Actor Nam Yoon-soo Addresses Controversial SNS Post: “Did I get Hacked?”

Actor Nam Yoon-soo recently found himself at the center of online controversy following the unexpected appearance of an inappropriate repost on his social media account. The incident, which quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike prompted a swift response and explanation from both the actor and his agency.

What Happened?

On April 13, a graphic post depicting abstract adult themed imagery was reposted to Nam Yoon-soo’s  social media feed. The post remained visible only for a few minutes before being deleted, but screenshots began circulating online almost immediately.

Nam Yoon-soo Responds

Shortly after the incident, Nam Yoon-soo took to a fan communication platform to share his reaction. He posted a candid photo from the driver’s seat of his car and wrote:

“What the heck are you reposting while I’m driving? Did I get hacked?”

He continued , explaining that he was unaware of the post until fans notified him, adding:

His agency also released a statement confirming that Nam was driving at the time, and that his phone was in his pocket when the post was published.

“After being notified by fans, Nam Yoon-soo checked the post immediately and deleted it. We believed it was unintentional repost caused while his phone was in his pocket.”

A Public Apology

Nam Yoon-soo later issued a formal apology on social media:

“I found out late that unpleasant post was reposted today without my knowledge. I am upset and sincerely sorry for causing inconvenience to many people. I will be more careful in the future.”

His sincerity and quick response helped diffuse some of the initial backlash, but it wasn’t the end of the discussion.

Nam Yoon-soo began his career as a model in 2014 and transitioned into acting in 2018. He rose to prominence through his role in Netflix’s extracurricular and has since starred in several successful dramas including, Postpartum Care Center, Today’s Webtoon, and Love in the City
In June 2023, he received praise and admiration from the public when it was revealed that he donated a kidney to his father, who was suffering from late-stage kidney failure—a gesture that touched many fans across Korea.
